The year is 1519. Written on the sands of Veracruz, the First Letter marks the moment Hernán Cortés breaks with the authority of the Crown and decides to press on, with no way back.
Cortés describes the first contact with civilizations surrounded by gold and mystery, the founding of the Villa Rica de la Vera Cruz and the web of alliances and battles that would seal the fate of a continent.
